Local News Day 2027: A Matching Challenge for Montana Newsrooms
This April, Press Forward Montana will join the national Press Forward network to help Montana newsrooms grow local support for local journalism. Here's how newsrooms and donors can take part.
Apply for a matching grant of up to $10,000, plus fundraising training, campaign templates and hands-on support to help you raise more from your audience. Every eligible dollar you raise from individual donors during April 2027 will be matched 2 to 1, up to your grant cap.
Applications open November 2 and close December 1, 2026. The application link will be available here starting November 2, so check back then!
For Newsrooms
For Donors
Your gift to the matching pool will be doubled by Press Forward, then used to triple what newsrooms raise from their readers this April. Every dollar goes straight to the newsrooms Montana communities rely on.
